Tremix flooring, also known as Vacuum Dewatered Flooring or VDF flooring, is a concrete flooring method where surplus water is removed from freshly laid concrete through a vacuum process after placing and vibration.

This process helps reduce the water-cement ratio in the concrete surface layer, which can improve strength, durability, abrasion resistance, and overall concrete floor performance.

Tremix / VDF flooring is widely used in industrial floors, factory floors, warehouses, parking areas, loading zones, and other surfaces where durability and surface quality are important.

02 Where It Is Used

Designed for the industrial floor plate.

03 Key Benefits

Why teams specify laser screed.

01

Improved Surface Strength

By reducing surplus water from the concrete surface layer, VDF flooring helps improve the quality and durability of the finished floor.

02

Better Abrasion Resistance

A denser concrete surface can support better resistance against wear in industrial and high-traffic environments.

03

Cost-Effective Method

A practical and cost-effective method for durable concrete floor construction in many industrial applications.

04

Suitable for Industrial Projects

Designed for floors that need to withstand movement, loading, industrial activity, and regular use.

05

Workable During Placement

Allows concrete with better workability during placement while improving surface performance after dewatering.

·

Pairs with Trowel Finishing

Combines naturally with trowel finishing and joint cutting for a complete floor delivery.

04 Process Overview

An eight-step execution sequence.

Each scope is planned end-to-end — from review to final handover — so the work performs the way it was specified.

  1. 01

    Surface & Sub-base Preparation

Sub-base check, formwork, reinforcement coordination, and pour readiness.

  2. 02

    Concrete Placing

Co-ordinated placement of fresh concrete to the designed thickness and slump.

  3. 03

    Concrete Vibration

Vibration of placed concrete to achieve compaction across the placement area.

  4. 04

    Vacuum Dewatering

Vacuum mats are deployed to extract surplus water from the surface layer.

  5. 05

    Surface Finishing

Power floating to refine the surface after dewatering.

  6. 06

    Trowel Finishing

Trowel finishing where required to refine surface texture.

  7. 07

    Groove / Joint Cutting

Control-joint cutting where applicable for crack management.

  8. 08

    Curing & Final Review

Curing protocol, surface review, and handover.

05 Applications

Q.01What is Tremix flooring?+
Tremix flooring is a vacuum dewatered concrete flooring method where excess water is removed from freshly placed concrete to improve the floor’s surface quality and durability.
Q.02Is Tremix flooring the same as VDF flooring?+
Yes. Tremix flooring is commonly referred to as VDF flooring, or Vacuum Dewatered Flooring.
Q.03Where is VDF flooring used?+
VDF flooring is commonly used in factories, warehouses, workshops, parking areas, loading zones, and industrial floor spaces.
Q.04Is Tremix flooring suitable for heavy-duty industrial use?+
Tremix flooring is suitable for many industrial and commercial applications. Final specification should be decided based on floor loading, usage, slab design, surface treatment, and project requirements.
